Why TAKE THIS COURSE?
AI tools are evolving faster than most teams can keep up with. This course gives you a structured way to cut through the noise — understanding what today's tools can actually do, which tool is right for which task, and how to identify a real problem worth solving.

Unlike tool-specific courses, this course covers the full landscape: Core AI capabilities across generating, transforming, retrieving, categorising, and automating work. Participants get hands-on practice across a curated set of tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Manus, and NotebookLM — and are encouraged to bring in and experiment with tools of their own choice.

On Day 2, participants apply a design thinking framework to identify a challenge from their own work context and build a working prototype using AI tools or agents — something they can take back and use immediately.
OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, participants will achieve the following:‍
  • Understand the current landscape of AI tools and agents, mapped to 10+ core capability areas
  • Know which AI tool to use for which task and output
  • Write better, more effective prompts for higher quality AI outputs
  • Apply a design thinking framework to identify real workplace problems that AI can solve
  • Build and present a working AI tool or agent prototype
  • Use design thinking as a practical framework to innovate and solve complex problem with the help of Gen AI

Day 1
  • How generative AI works and why it behaves the way it does

    The current landscape of AI tools: what exists, what each tool does well

    10+ core AI capabilities: Generate, Transform, Retrieve, Categorise, and AI Agents

    Hands-on practice with the right tool for every capability — participants are encouraged to experiment with tools of their own choice


Day 2
  • Introduction to AI Agents: what they are, what they can do, and how to build one

    Introduction to design thinking as a framework for problem discovery

    How to identify and frame a real workplace problem

    Ideation: generating and prioritising AI-driven solutions

    Hands-on prototyping: participants are given time and space to build a working AI tool or agent that solves a problem they have identified themselves

    Prototype presentations and peer feedback
Pre-requisites
  • Need a laptop with unrestricted internet access (no download of software is needed)
  • Have good English proficiency (English language at GCE 'O' Level of B4 and above, or WSQ Workplace Literacy skills of Level 7 and above).
  • Possess basic information and communication technology (ICT) skills.
  • Programming knowledge is not required
